Issue No. 110 March 2010
ANNUAL DINNER Fifty Five (55) members and guests have booked. Remember it is 6.30 for 7pm. There will be a raffle for a necklace made by Peter Dewhurst and wine, etc. Gifts for the raffle appreciated. There will not be a tombola as well this year.

Subs are now due,16 outstanding. Don’t forget, you cannot enter any match if you are not a member. Anyone not having paid by June will be deemed to have resigned (see Rule Book).

The price for internal competitions has gone up to £3 per competition and you should get your entries in to Pam Pollitt, treasurer, saying which event(s) you are entering.

The Yearbook has been produced and will be sent out when subs are paid. There are some errata: The Irish Cup was won by Dennis Graham not John Filsak, The One Ball and Pendle Shield not awarded in 2009.

Mr Andrew Webb has a change of address (temporary) and can be reached on his Mobile 07789 716192

Work on the lawns was delayed owing to the severe weather making the ground too hard to spike. However, work has taken place and lawns should be in good order by Easter.

We are hosting the Ilkley Croquet Club on Tuesday 20th April and will visit them on Thursday 24th June for friendly games, usually Golf doubles. Jacobs Join lunches both dates.

Let Geoff Whitaker know if you wish to attend either. The more the merrier at Earby but fewer lawns at Ilkley so numbers limited.

NEW GAME FOR GOLF PLAYERS: Geoff Whitaker offers you the Rainbow Game, see board and instructions in the pavilion for full details, but basically everyone begins in the blue and moves up a colour if they win and back down again if they lose. Any play any within the same colour. IT’s FREE this year. There is a trophy.

OPEN DAY Saturday 26th June from 10.30am. £1 entry incl tea/biscuit. Light refreshments, book stall, raffle, cake stall extra charge. It’s our Quinquennial (5th Anniversary) so if you can attend and help, bake in advance, teach on the day please do.

COMMITTEE MEETINGS Next committee meetings: Wed 28th Apr 8pm, Wed 26th May 8pm, Wed 30th Jun 8pm. Matters for agenda to Geoff 14 days before. Keep checking the web site for information: (see masthead) and send Abdul Ahmad (webmaster) anything you wish to be circulated there.
