2010 tournaments:
The CA need dates etc finalised by end Sept, this has been done. Barry Keen will manage the August Bank Holiday Tournament 2010.

Groundwork: Volunteers needed to assist cutting hedges, scarifying lawns and re-seeding. Check with Geoff Whitaker when.
Abdul Ahmad has spiked all but lawn 4.
The Allett has had a new belt fitted and the Dennis cassette has been taken for repair. We are looking into the costs of a new sprayer.

WINTER EVENTS: :

David Barrett is coming to give his talk and do some coaching on Thu 24th September. Starting at 10.45am prompt. Mallets will be available to try, and to buy if you would like to, but there is no compulsion. Come along and listen, play and have fun. Maureen will do a soup and sandwich lunch as we hope to have a good days play until about 3pm.
The Sealed Knot are coming again to play on Sat 3rd October, help to set up and start them off would be appreciated.
You could then go on to visit Earby Community Centre who have an Autumn Fair on 3rd October, we are supplying raffle prizes, mugs, pens and free trial games voucher. Books of raffle tickets on sale in the club just £1 a book.

Roy Berry has a strained back and we wish him well and a speedy return to the lawns.
Jonty Parkinson of 44 Stoney Bank Road is now a full member and we welcome him.

Re: the bins These should go out alternate Sundays and were missed on Sun 13th Sep and need to be brought back in on Monday. Please help if you are turning up to play, we have more players than bins. Jobs cannot always be left to the same people.

Players are also asked to avoid the corners when playing other than in matches, begin your game along the boundary below the corner i.e. furthest away from first hoop!

The stewarding system, eg opening up and greeting players for tournaments and closing up afterwards has rather broken down at the end of the season. Please try and volunteer to do one or either for next season. There will be 5 CA tournaments and 1 Golf Tournament with a total of 16 days when caterers and stewards will be required in 2010.

The John Beech Lawns notice boards have been somewhat occluded by the new machine hut. These are to be moved to a spot more visible from the car park.
