DP the next Sec Shield match provisional for Wed 2nd September. Groundwork: Volunteers needed to assist cutting hedges, scarifying lawns and re-seeding. Check with Geoff Whitaker when. The Allett mower has been reset, but MUST NOT be used unless drag matting has removed worms casts first. Worm suppressant will be administered when practicable. Better white liner will be purchased when current lot has run out. OPEN DAY Saturday 20th June went well in spite of showers and we gained £256. GROUP VISITS: Tue 23rd June the Bereavement Group raised £106 Thu 30th July Broughton WI evening with pie and pea supper. Volunteers to play. Wed 19th August (this date to be changed) The Rotarians are coming from 7pm, play and buffet supper. WINTER EVENTS: Monday 5th October 7pm Quiz night & Broth & Dumpling Supper £5 November date tba Board Games & Supper December AGM, January Croquet Beetle Drive, February Social Evening Annual Dinner March 5th Colne Golf Club. Earby Community Centre have an Autumn Fair on 3rd October, we are supplying raffle prizes, mugs, pens and free trial games voucher. Don’t forget you can give lovely limited edition mugs as Christmas Gifts. Further supplies in office. If you can help with opening up or locking up at tournaments please fill in the sheets in the pavilion. Re the bins These go out alternate Sundays and need to be brought back in on Monday. Please help if you are turning up to play,we have more players than bins. Players are also asked to avoid the corners when playing other than in matches, begin your game along the boundary below the corner i.e. furthest away from first hoop! COMMITTEE MEETINGS: Next committee meeting Thu 20th August 11am which is our Chairman’s 75th Birthday. Anything you want on the agenda should be sent to Geoff Whitaker by Wed 5th Aug (via email to BD or by phone or post to GW).
