THE QUIZ NIGHT at Nelson Cricket Club,Thursday 30th April was a great success, our thanks must go to Sandra Jensen for organising the event and helping to raise £140.

INTERNAL COMPETITIONS:These are now underway with first draw to be completed before 17th June, which is amazingly close, so get your opposition arranged and play.

INTER CLUB MATCH DATES: Mary Rose at Cheltenham 4th July, Secretary Shield v Huddersfield 19th May, Longman Cup at Edgbaston 4th June.

GROUNDWORK: Volunteers needed to assist Peter Dewhurst lay the stone flags for the new hut base near the machine store. Help also required with laying the rest of the carpet tiles in the pavilion. Please contact Peter if you can help. Lock to be fixed on Gents toilet door. Allitt mower now repaired and available for club authorised mowers.Garden 2 not progressed owing to rain. Volunteers needed to plant daffodil bulbs under bushes on top edge next to playground.

OPEN DAY: Saturday 20th June from 1030am. Please support this: manning stalls, coming to play and show any visitor how to, baking for the cake and savoury stall. Posters and car stickers are in the pavilion, please distribute as widely as possible. Tell your friends, sell tickets ..see Barbara for supplies.

EXTRA GENERAL MEETING: Geoff Whitaker is Acting Secretary until the AGM with Barbara Dutton as email contact.

COMMITTEE meetings 2009:
These have now been changed, please make a note in your Yearbook as any member may attend any committee meeting: Tue 9th June 10am, Thu 20th Aug 10am, Tue 20th Oct 10 am, AGM remains Sat 5th Dec 10am, finally Thu 10th Dec 10am. Items for the agenda should be sent to the Secretary two weeks before the meeting, either by letter or via Barbara’s email see above.

PLEASE NOTE: The freezer now holds food designated for tournaments. Should a match captain take a cake or scones(in extremis) these must be replaced immediately.
Please take care of the new carpet and do not leave machinery in the pavilion.
If you can help with opening up or locking up at tournaments please fill in the sheets in the pavilion.
Subs are now overdue from those members who know who they are! br>
THE BINS: These go out alternate Sundays and need to be brought back in on Monday. Please help if you are turning up to play, we have more players than bins.

LOCAL RULE: Players are also asked to avoid the corners when playing other than in matches, begin your game along the boundary below the corner i.e. furthest away from first hoop!
