24 July 2010 Pendle beat Crake 3-4 in the NWFCC Midweek League away. Report by David Pollitt. TEAMS: CRAKE: G Whitehouse (2.5), S Holmes (14), J Clinch (16) and D Mclunes (24) PENDLE: D Pollitt (7), R Welch (8), C Parnell (11) and R Delves (12) In the morning David and Ron were both well beaten playing on a slow and bumppy lawn. In the doubles Robin and Catherine managed to pull the score back to 2 - 1 with a narrow +1T win. In the afternoon David reversed his score from the morning to win 26 - 0 in 1hr 15mins, just before the rain became heavy and prolonged. Steve Holmes, playing for Crake for the first time beat Ron +24 after beating David in the morning +26. He had recently been playing in NZ on a handicap of 4.5. His present handicap appears too generous. With the game all square Robin won +13 to give Pendle their first victory of the season. RESULTS: R Delves & C Parnell beat J Clinch & G Whitehouse +1.
