Pendle beats Bowdon Saints in the NWFCC Advanced league. Report by John Filsak Going by previous experience this year, we prepared a hot lunch for the match against Bowdon Saints. But it turned out to be one of the best days of the year. The food was still good, though: baked spuds with Boston baked beans. We needed maximum bonus points to win the league, and it looked as though we were off to a good start, when David Pollitt beat Mike Steer and Andrew Webb came within a whisker of beating Andrew Winn. But it was not to be. Barry Keen, in particular, damaged our changes. So although we won the match 5-4 we didn't pick up any bonus points and were unable much to improve our league position.
