12 March 2009
Sterling Work goes on to get the Club ready for the new season.

An enormous amount of work has been done during the last few months by a small team of dedicated members to get the club ready for the new season.

The team consisted of Roy Berry, Peter Dewhurst, Robin Delves, Robert Hall, John Snowden, Walter Flattery, Peter Dowdall, Geoff Whitaker, David Venn and Victoria Venn.

They have:-

a) Constructed platforms for storing the ball stops. Repaired the feet on the ball stops.
b) Creosoted the pavilion and all the shelters.
c) Filled and re-turfed the new drainage trench dug by the constructor adjacent to lawn 1.
d) Drag matted the lawns several times to disperse worm casts so that lawns could be mowed.
e) Painted hoops and repaired equipment holders.

Robert Sagar is mowing the lawns again this week. The tasks of spreading Spring fertilizer and painting the ball stops is being carried out on Monday 16th March under Robin's supervision. I'm sure he'll appreciate help from anyone who has a couple of hours to spare.

Members throughout the past years have undertaken many tasks to bring the club to its present standard. Continued efforts of these volunteers can only improve the facilities further.
