Pendle retains the NWFCC Handicap League title after defeating Southport at home. Report & Results by David Pollitt. Pendle & Craven: John Filsak (2), Abdul Ahmad (6), David Pollitt (Capt.) (7) and Catherine Parnell (12). Southport: Terry Foster (Capt.) (3.5), Tony Thomas (7), Diana Williamson (8) and Eileen Gallagher (16) Win this game and we will be league champions. The lawns had been cut shorter than normal and were playing fairly fast and looking very green. Between the showers, the games in the morning all went to Pendle with the doubles being closely fought to win +3T. After lunch the sun shone for a short while giving way to heavy showers. Pendle duly completed the win they needed with only D Pollitt failing to win. Champions again! Well played. Results J Filsak & C Parnell beat T Foster & E Gallagher +3. A Ahmad beat Tony Thomas +11.
