Pendle has an easy win in the Secretary's Shield 2nd Round match at Belsay Hall. Report & Results by David Pollitt.

This round took us to Belsay Hall near Newcastle, to play Belsay in the quarter final. The lawns looked green and lush, surrounded by trees and a walled backdrop. Little did we know how much effort it was going to take to play on them. It was nearly impossible to hit the ball off the lawn.

In the morning Pendle went into lunch 3 nil up after just winning the doubles +3T. In the afternoon all the games went to Pendle except for Robin who went
down - 7. This was a great result as the home team were used to the lawns which were very unusual. Handicap change: David Pollitt 8 down to 7.
