13 April 2008 Pendle & Craven beat Bury North's in the Golf League Match. Report by Keith Pinching Result: Pendle 13 Bury North's 9 Team : K Pinching , P Dewhurst, M Harkness , D Harkness Match was held on a virtual lake with many areas of the lawns under water, which made life somewhat difficult for those "touch shots" The doubles matches were a virtual monopoly for Pendle and gave Pendle an early lead to take into lunch. The singles matches were more even and as the lawns began to dry out the standard of play improved. All the team contributed to the final score and has placed Pendle on the trail of retaining the Trophy which we hold for last year 2007. . | |||||||
