17 September 2008 Handicap team beat Southport. On a relatively calm day Pendle played host to Southport in the NWFCC Handicap league match. Honours were even after the morning doubles. Fortified with a good meal and red plonk, Pendle won all 4 singles games in the afternoon. The margin of victory flattered Pendle. All games were close and went to time.
