27 June 2008 Pendle exits from the Longman Cup after a heavy defeat at Bury. The Pendle team travelled to Coronation Park on day when the weather was indifferent. It was overcast and dry most morning. A persistent light drizzle descended all afternoon. The crown green bowling surface was nicely manicured and gave the home side a distinct advantage. Bury enjoyed the luxury of bisques in all but one singles match. Malcolm Hardman won both his matches comfortably and was rewarded with automatic handicap reduction from 14 to 12. Abdul Ahmad saw his handicap increase to 8 from 7.
