All those who had played in Pendle and Craven's successful Mary Rose
campaign last year came together with their partners for a celebration
dinner at the Tempest Arms at the beginning of January.
The Mary Rose is a national knock-out competition for players with handicaps of no lower than 1.
They celebrated their victory by drinking champagne from the trophy.
During the dinner John was somehow persuaded that the trophy wouldn't
really know it had come to the area unless it had seen the top of
Pendle Hill. So the following day it went for a walk with John and his
wife, Ruth.
